Karşıyaka is located west of Kyrenia. Its neighbour Lapta is home to the famous Güzelyalı beach, a long sandy beach with turquoise water in a natural setting far from the noise of the city. The village of Karşıyaka is famous for its historic monasteries. It is the most peaceful of villages and ideal for walkers.
